How to Design Seamless Patterns Part 1 & 2 (Do one or both)
Event Date:
16 June, 2025
Event Time:
10:00 am
Event Location:
Horse Shoe Bend
Monday the 16th June is Youth Day, and a public holiday, so why not spend it indulging in your creativity.
I will be running two workshops at Horse Shoe Bend, you can attend one or both, the choice is yours! There is a discounted price for those who are signing up for both workshops.
Part 1: The first workshop will cover all the basics of how to create a seamless pattern repeat the ‘analogue’ way, without all the fancy design software, just paper and pencils. There is a very nifty little technique that once you master it, makes creating seamless patterns just so simple.
You will have the opportunity to then create as many different repeats as you would like to in the time available, you could work on different designs or put all your effort into one and perhaps finish it off with a bit of colour.
Part 2: In the second workshop we will go on to look at a number different design layouts that you can use to create various different looks in your pattern and design. This is all based on the technique that you learn in the first workshop. Once again, you choose which layouts you would like to experiment with, one or all find out just how simple, and satisfying it is to create these patterns.
You do not need any prior design experience for these workshops, as long as you can make a mark on a piece of paper then you can do this! It is advisable to have completed Part 1 in order to do Part 2, depending on your experience. Please get in touch with me should you have any questions regarding this.
The cost includes all the materials for the day, a workbook, as well as tea and coffee.
You are welcome to purchase any other refreshments or eats from the restaurant, for your own account, should you wish.
If you are attending both workshops, a table will be reserved in the restaurant from 12.30 to 1.30 for lunch. Lunch is not included in the price of the workshop and will need to settled directly with the restaurant.
